SLU 301 2008
London, Oxford, Normandy, Paris, WindsorInherit Influence, Capture the Future
ARE YOU READY?
You remember 201 - nonstop days packed with inspiration, eye-opening information, amazing speakers, and SLU exclusives? You are about to experience leadership on a new level as SLU 301 takes you into history and around the globe. Be prepared to inherit the past so that you may capture the future.
Imagine yourself cruising town the River Thames, past Big Ben and Westminster Abby, standing on the Prime Meridian, observing the breathtaking view of the spirals of Oxford, sitting in the war room where Churchill directed the war, landing on the beaches at Normandy, riding to the top of the Eiffel tower, following the paths of C.S. Lewis, Tolken, and Shakespeare, and experiencing the agony and ecstasy of some of history's greatest works of art from Rodin to Da Vinci. Oh, by the way, then have tea with a member of the Royal Family!
SLU 301 2008 is more intense than ever!
Day 1: Depart from JFK on your overnight flight to London! Expect to be zonked (British for tired), so rest when you can. START by sleeping on the flight because when we land, the schedule is chockers (British for overflowing). If you don't snooze, you definitely loose.

Day 2: SLU 301 Leadership Summit leads the way for an incredible trip into history. Board your private coach for a trip to Stonehenge (3100-1550 BCE) a first for SLU 301. Arguable, one of the great Ancient Wonders of the World. Then gather round to meet your fellow SLU travelers for a time of welcome and introduction before heading out to catch the ferry across the English Channel to France. Hang out in the private SLU rooms, go for dinner on the ship, or go up top and ride in the open air with new friends. We are starting the trip off with grand adventure in SLU style. We will arrive in Caen, France and make our way by private motor coach to various Normandy hotels in the charming French countryside. You will be ready to sleep, no doubt.
DAY 3: Normandy - Our drive through the beautiful French Countryside takes us to the Normandy Cemetery where you will experience the brand new interactive museum, and we will commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of our fallen heroes in a private SLU wreath laying ceremony. We will immediately go to the bunkers of Point Du-Hoc where our historian, Will Cavanaugh, will lead us through the lessons of WWII. You will walk the bunkers, stand in the craters, and relive the memories of D-Day. Afterwards, we'll picnic on Omaha Beach where our courageous soldiers paid a precious price for freedom. Be prepared for a moving time of prayer and commitment at our special service here.
After such a historic day, it's time for Paris, The City of Lights. We will journey from Normandy through the French countryside and into the city of Paris where we will view the Eiffel Tower by night before checking into our gorgeous Paris hotel.

Day 4: SLU 301 Leadership Summit - Our private SLU guides will lead us through Paris to explore The Louvre Museum. From there, be amazed at the sculptures of Rodin's Gardens where Dr. Jay will be waiting to dream with you as you experience the mind of Rodin at the gigantic Thinker sculpture, The Gates of Hell, and the Gardens. Your private tour continues to Notre Dame Cathedral. And yes, you will have time for shopping in Paris! Get ready for the next adventure.
"All aboard" for the Eurostar, the high speed rail that takes you under the English Channel in style. Our private SLU train cabins await so you can party all the way to London! Arrive at St. Pancras Station-London and be whisked away by private coach to the beautiful 5-star Renaissance Heathrow Hotel. Check in and get to bed because we have four adventure packed days ahead throughout London.
Day 5: Can it get any better? Oh, yes it can! Today is a full day in the town of Oxford. Walk along the path where C. S. Lewis and Tolkien spoke of the Scriptures and held each other accountable to their dreams and goals. Spend the afternoon wandering the streets of Oxford for shopping and hanging with the locals. SLU will hold our Session III: Leadership Summit at the Historic Oxford Town Hall with special briefings from professors of Oxford, Cambridge and Oxford-Analytica.
Day 6 and 7: SLU 301 Leadership Summit does London like you can't imagine. Forget about rest! Cruise the Thames, experience The Cabinet War Rooms, Churchill Museum, Westminster Abbey, the British Museum, Hard Rock London, and Harrods. Climb the 500+ steps to the breath-taking view of London from atop St. Paul's Cathedral, stroll by Buckingham Palace, visit the Royal Navy Museum, and walk The Prime Meridian where 0 marks the spot for the world. See the Gutenberg Bible, the original Magna Carta, drawings from Da Vinci, and the original music from the Beatles at the British Library. Take your vitamins because the night is young! Dine at Piccadilly Circus, explore Covent Garden, and be a tourist!
And for those who speak British: Don't get your knickers in a twist. Queues are long, lifts are small. Definitely bring your trainers because we do a runner almost every day. Exclusive SLU sessions in the evening after dinner.

Day 8: SLU 301 Leadership Summit - You'll see the beauty and splendor of Windsor Castle, the largest occupied castle in the world; a Royal home and fortress for over 900 years; and currently an official residence of the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It must be experienced rather than visited, and we do that in the grand SLU style. We complete this exhilarating day with leisure time in the quaint town of Windsor, just outside the castle gates.
Day 9: Exhausted, but transformed, we board our flight home.
